Technology Sustainment Specialist

Job Summary: The Technology Sustainment Specialist is the go-to person when it comes to inside product knowledge and the proper set-up, use and maintenance of our technology product components. The Specialist uses his/her troubleshooting skills to help customers inside and outside the organization resolve questions, and product and design issues. The Specialist also helps the design and customer support teams understand common customer problems and to make product design improvements.

Essential Functions:

• Develop product support FAQs and flowcharts based on high-degree of product knowledge
• Create and organize test plans and test cases
• Execute testing and identify design defects
• Provide technology support and interface with other departments company-wide
• Engage with Product Development team in product design improvement
• Research and apply new technology, tools, and methods in the support of product support, quality assurance and maintenance

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of software and electronic systems
• Familiarity with Networking and TV broadcasting technologies strongly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, collaborative, open-minded and eager learner
• High level of interpersonal communication skills required
• Commitment to quality of work and follow-through to completion
• Knowledge of and comfort with using Linux environment and open-source software a major plus
• Skill in the use of office communication and documentation software (MSOffice or equivalent)

Education:

2 year technical degree or relevant experience

Working conditions (info on conditions out of the ordinary such as extensive travel, high noise level, frequent lifting, etc...) :

• Office environment

Up to 25% travel may be required

Hours Required per week: 40+
