Technology Engineering Manager

As an Technology Engineering Manager at TRUE, you will have a number of responsibilities, but the primary one is to contribute all of your development skills to own all aspects of technology at TRUE. That includes product for one of our premium cardio equipment consoles, each of which is a uniquely outfitted combination of hardware, embedded software, network connectivity components and external plastics.

Your mission is to oversee the design, development, building, testing, automation, and troubleshooting software for deployment to the market and do everything necessary to achieve this within the team dynamic and workflow. Here's what you'll be doing:

• Software Testing Leadership (15% of workload)
  • Spending time overseeing testing of all products at True Fitness that utilize software. Products consist of Treadmills, Bikes, Ellipticals, Stepmills, or any other product that requires software
  • Document and report all bugs to the applicable person/supplier so that those bugs get resolved
  • Supply weekly reports of all bugs that were reported during the week and all bugs that are currently outstanding
  • Control, update, and continually refine all testing protocol documents
  • Assemble, disassemble, and move products around the warehouse and True showroom as needed to complete the testing task
  • Provide a weekly update of all current software releases to Service, Quality, Product Development, and the Production Line
• Software and Hardware Implementation Leadership Responsibilities (65% of workload)
  • Oversee all software engineers and make sure they are accountable for timelines, releases, and proper release procedures
  • Implement well documented release procedures and maintain software control and storage systems
  • Oversee the release of new consoles/technology items from a hardware standpoint or through different vendors
  • Oversee the development of software using Android or any other software that's currently used
  • Oversee the other members of the testing team and manage their workload
  • Oversee software or hardware that is created through vendors and be the lead contact
• Electronics Leadership Responsibilities (20% of workload)
  • Oversee any electrical engineers and manage their workload/tasks
  • Oversee all new hardware designs for new or existing projects
• Travel
  • Attend customer sites, as needed
  • Total travel up to 10%

Qualifications we are looking for:

• BSEE, MSEE, or applicable technology degree
• 3+ years in testing software
• 2+ years in consumer products
• 3+ years in fitness equipment
• Strong communication, collaboration and project management skills
  • Email, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Project schedule tools
  • Ability to lead teleconference and face-to-face cross-functional meetings
• Technical skills
  • Jira, Confluence
  • Experience in software testing or development
