True Fitness is seeking an experienced Product Development Engineer to join our team!

Job Summary:

  • New Product Development Projects (15% of workload)
    • Manage major project schedules, lead project review, created 3d/2d models, maintain project budgets, and complete all documentation related to releasing products.
    • Lead cross-functional work with Marketing, Sales, Technology, Service, Quality, Testing, Warehouse, Overseas Partners, and Industrial Design to ensure project specifications are met
  • Leadership Responsibilities (70% of workload)
    • Oversee all Strength and Cardio projects with emphasis on maintaining weekly updates on cost and schedules. The result of this should be continuous updates to the master project list for the Gantt charts and a centralized location where we can find all project costs
    • Oversee all quality related changes to verify that each engineer is properly making the requested changes.
  • Quality Management (15% of workload)
    • Meet weekly with engineering, service, and sales to understand what the most recent field reports are. Compile and update a list of all field failures that need engineering review and product changes
    • Follow-up on all changes to verify all changes are made properly and with the proper ECN documentation
  • Travel
    • Define and schedule appropriate travel that aligns with the project schedule(s)
    • Travel domestically & internationally for new product development, production needs, and quality related issues
    • Attend customer sites, as needed
    • Attend and report on trade shows, as needed
    • Total travel up to 15%

Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors and/or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • 5 years minimum experience in consumer products preferred.
    • Strong passion for fitness and exercise
    • 1 year minimum experience in project management & people management experience.

Qualifications:

  • BSME or MSME
  • 3+ years in consumer products required.
  • 3+ years project management experience.
  • 3+ years in a management role or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in fitness equipment with a strong passion for fitness products.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and project management skills
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week.
    • Email, PowerPoint, Excel
    • Project schedule tools, Microsoft Project preferred.
    • Ability to lead teleconference and face-to-face cross-functional meetings.
  • Technical skills
    • 3D CAD, Solidworks preferred.
    • Experience in machine design, and linkage design.

  • Office and warehouse environment.
