Industrial Designer - Product Development

Graphic Designer Job Purpose:

Works with Creative Director on product design projects including industrial design, user interface design (touch screen and traditional button overlays), product badging, and packaging.

Job Duties:

• With the Creative Director, Industrial Designer establishes design concepts for new products, or product change projects.
• Evaluates design ideas based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, manufacturing, cost, and specification.
• Plans design projects by studying information, materials, trends, competitive set, and TRUE Fitness' historical trends.
• Incorporates above into concept sketches or design ideas.
• May incorporate concepts into Solidworks models or prototypes.
• May obtain approval of concept by daily communication and submission of layouts for approval.
• May work directly with product engineers to refine industrial design concepts through final production.
• May prepare finished art/graphics/software assets with thorough understanding of Adobe Creative Suite products in both PC and Mac.
• May assist Marketing efforts by contributing to product imagery needs for presentation, print, web, etc.
• Completes projects by coordinating with other internal personnel.

Skills/Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years industrial design experience
• Up to date Solidworks and ID drawing skills
• Dynamic design portfolio
• Creativity, flexibility, attention to detail
• Adobe Creative Suite expertise (mainly Photoshop & Illustrator) PC or Mac
• Ability to follow and advance existing TRUE Fitness design style
• Web design or user interface experience desirable
• Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word experience desirable
• Interest in fitness would be very beneficial
