Android Developer

As an Android Developer at TRUE, you will have a number of responsibilities, but the primary one is to contribute all of your development skills to get "technology product" out the door. For TRUE, that product is one of our premium cardio equipment consoles, each of which is a uniquely outfitted combination of hardware, embedded software, network connectivity components and external plastics.

Your mission is to design, develop, build, test, automate, troubleshoot and review software for deployment to the market and do everything necessary to achieve this within the team dynamic and workflow. Quality is paramount; transparency and collaboration combine seamlessly with your skills to successfully achieve your mission.

Education

• A 4-year degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Development, or 5 years of experience.

Software Development Experience

• Java and Kotlin for Android.
• Keil / IAR C Compilers for ARM based microcontrollers.
• Microsoft Visual Studio C / C++.

Systems Experience

• Machine Control.
• User interface implementation.

Skills for Android development

• Ability to follow Look and Feel guidelines for company products.
• Implementation of custom machine communication protocols.
• Implementation of USB protocols for serial communications.
• Implementation of Bluetooth Low Energy communications.
• Communication with Web servers for App updates and asset management.

Skills for Machine Control boards or LED consoles

• Knowledge of ARM based micro-controllers.
• Time sliced operation without an underlying operating system.
• Low level control of various peripheral devices.
• Software updates via USB or Bluetooth.

Skills that are a plus:

• Microsoft Visual Studio experience for writing development and/or factory testing of control boards.
• Creating test simulators using off the shelf microcontroller development boards.
• Knowledge of fitness equipment and related control mechanisms.
