Role Brief:

As a Product Development Software Engineer at TRUE, you have a number of responsibilities, but the primary one is to analyze, troubleshoot and design solutions in support and improvement of True's products. Those products include premium cardio consoles and related equipment, each of which is a uniquely outfitted combination of hardware, embedded software, network connectivity components, and related hardware and plastics.   Your mission in this role is to take point in addressing product issues and to develop, implement, and test solutions for software, hardware, firmware, and related components. Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Primary product development engineer contact point for addressing field issues requiring product changes
  • Provide troubleshooting and issue analysis
  • Design, implement, and test software, firmware, and hardware solutions
  • Develop in-depth understanding and implementation details for key technologies and component areas within our products
  • Follow development process and procedures
  • Acquire and utilize new development skills as needed to complete projects successfully
  • Collaborate with teammates with varying technology skill levels
  • Participate in peer review and continuous improvement activities


  • 2+ years of full-stack software design and development experience, using technologies such as Java, C/C++, JavaScript
  • Experience with design and development of firmware for microcontrollers for embedded systems a plus
  • Experience with user interface development using Qt, QML, and JavaScript a strong plus
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organization skills
  • Experience within a disciplined Software Development Life cycle (SDLC), with emphasis in agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience with tools for Software Configuration Management (SCM)
  • Experience with project management, defect, and collaboration tools such as: Atlassian Jira and Atlassian Confluence
  • Familiarity with networking, data, wireless, and connectivity technologies strongly preferred Web APIs, REST, JSON, OAuth, Bluetooth, ANT, Near-field, SQL, relational database, and data mining concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Word, PowerPoint, Excel


Bachelor of Science degree in a technology-related field, such as Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience
